WAVE’s interns not only learn about the root causes of gun violence and how to prevent it, but also how to educate others about the realities of gun violence.
WAVE Educational Fund has continued to facilitate a youth summer internship program every year since 2018. We empower young people without placing the responsibility of gun violence prevention solely on their shoulders. We equip them with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to create social change a safer future.
Read about our past years’ internships, and, if applications are currently open, young people can apply here.
In 2024, WAVE launched the Wisconsin Youth Against Gun Violence Coalition. While multiple national gun violence prevention organizations have youth programs across the state, this is the first initiative to bring these projects together to collaborate and amplify each other’s efforts.
