WAVE’s interns not only learn about the root causes of gun violence and how to prevent it, but also how to educate others about the realities of gun violence.

WAVE Educational Fund has continued to facilitate a youth summer internship program every year since 2018. We empower young people without placing the onus of gun violence prevention solely on their shoulders. We equip them with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to be effective social change agents and to create a safer future for their generation.

Read about our past years’ internships, and, if applications are currently open, young people can apply here.

In 2023, WAVE launched a Youth Advisory Board. The purpose of the Youth Advisory Board is to further WAVE’s mission of preventing gun violence, specifically by educating, encouraging, and empowering young people to become change agents in our communities.
