Founded in 1993 by passionate volunteers and incorporated in 1997, WAVE Educational Fund has grown to include tens of thousands of supporters representing every county in Wisconsin. As our influence has grown, so has our critical role with reporters and legislators as the go-to voice for lifesaving gun laws.

WAVE Educational Fund’s equity commitment is to cultivate a more equitable, violence-free society where we all feel a sense of security, belonging, value, and pride.
To understand and address the societal disparities that create non-inclusive and unsafe environments, both professionally and interpersonally.
People of color are disproportionately impacted by gun violence and are also victims of a criminal justice system mired in systemic racism. WAVE analyzes all potential gun violence prevention legislation with a racial impact assessment.
WAVE works to amplify the voices of impacted communities by partnering with Black-and Brown-led organizations.
We also make ongoing internal efforts to enhance equity practices within WAVE.
