Tribute Giving
By giving a gift in honor or memory of a family member or friend, you are recognizing the values shared between you and that individual.
Planned Giving
Including WAVE Educational Fund in your will, trust, life insurance policy, or retirement plan beneficiary designations allows your legacy to advance a more equitable, violence-free future — one where everyone can feel safe, valued, and connected. Planned gifts create lasting change for generations to come.
A planned gift can take many forms, including:
- A bequest in your will or living trust
- Naming WAVE as a beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 401(k), etc.)
- Naming WAVE as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy
- Other estate or financial planning arrangements
If you’ve already included WAVE in your plans, or are considering it, we invite you to share your intentions by completing our non-binding Letter of Future Intent. This optional form does not create any legal obligation — it simply allows us to thank you now, include you in our Legacy community, and ensure we understand your wishes when the time comes.
Your thoughtfulness today helps protect lives for the future.
Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to support WAVE Educational Fund. If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to us from your fund.
How It Works
A donor-advised fund functions like a charitable investment account. You contribute assets to your DAF (such as cash, stocks, or other assets) and receive an immediate tax deduction. The value has the potential to grow since assets in a DAF can be invested tax-free before distribution. Then, over time, you can recommend grants from your DAF to support the nonprofits and causes you care about—like WAVE Educational Fund.
Recommend a Grant to WAVE Educational Fund
To direct a gift from your DAF, simply provide the following information to your fund administrator:
Legal Name: WAVE Educational Fund, Inc.
EIN: 39-1917076
Mailing Address:
WAVE Educational Fund, Inc.
P.O. Box 170393
Milwaukee, WI 53217
Contact Email: jacey@waveedfund.org Jacey Bonavia Murray, Director of Development and Operations
We’re grateful for your support—DAF gifts help sustain our mission and advance gun violence prevention across Wisconsin.
Give Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you’re 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a powerful way to support WAVE Educational Fund directly from your IRA—while potentially reducing your tax burden.
A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your traditional IRA to a qualified nonprofit like WAVE Educational Fund. These gifts count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and are excluded from your taxable income, which may lower your overall tax liability—even if you don’t itemize deductions.
How to Make a QCD
To initiate a QCD, contact your IRA plan administrator. Provide them with the following information:
Name: WAVE Educational Fund, Inc.
EIN: 39-1917076
Mailing Address: WAVE Educational Fund, Inc.
